Tonight I met a super cool couple. I get the impression they’re kinda nerdy, but so am I and I dig our kinda nerdy. I’m effin blogging for goodness sake, and I say effin!
Anyway, the guy and I hit it off a couple days prior, but today I met the girl. He’s a cool Dem and she’s a closet Dem, but still calls herself Republican. So cute! She just happens to like Stephen Colbert and John Stewert, she hates Fox, and she does see the oddity in the fact that of the 35 IMF listed developed nations, 34 offer at least one universal medical plan and the only one that doesn’t also spends the most on healthcare as a percentage of GDP and isn’t even in the WHO’s top 30 countries as listed by quality of health care. She even said she thinks she should pay more taxes!
I was confused as to how an alleged hardcore Democrat and an alleged hardcore Rebuplican could look so happy together, but it’s clear that she’s romanced by getting to be partnered with the view that socially just governance brings about greater benefit for all, including herself.
The GOP ideology only has positive long term opportunity for an elite few. It has been driven to use as much public funds to give to private enterprise and to lessen private enterprise’s obligation to adding to the government’s revenue stream.
Republican who thinks she should pay more taxes?!?!?!? Hahahaha…you crack me up…closet Democrat
